Liss 2016 Scarecrow Festival
Liss saw the 2016 Scarecrow Festival take place over the last weekend of June; the theme was nursery rhymes and produced some incredible creations. The Festival was organised by Liss Junior School, each scarecrow being given a number and presenting the challenge for residents and visitors to the village to walk around and identify and list as many Scarecrows as they can. Chapplins fabulous location in the centre of the village provided them an excellent opportunity to display their entry in the Business category, Chapplins scarecrow was put together by Anna (The artistic one in the office). Little Miss Muffet and her terrifying spider also caught the eye of many passing motorists!
The previous festival marked the 2012 Olympics with the scarecrows taking on a multitude of sporting poses, 115 in all, the Chapplins cyclist being awarded first prize in the business section.
Liss village has a great community and this is just one example of how everyone can join in the fun, and just one reason why many find Liss such a lovely place to live.
